Services Update | COVID-19
In addition to our current safety measures, our staff are wearing higher level masks and we are complying with the vaccination mandate.
During the COVID-19 outbreak, we are limiting access to patients and one healthy visitor/support person. Additional visitors will be asked to wait outside the clinic to minimize the risk of exposure. Everyone inside the facility will be required to wear a mask. Patients and visitors will be screened and have their temperature taken using temporal thermometers. Fully vaccinated symptomatic patients will be scheduled normally. Unvaccinated symptomatic patients will be rescheduled 14 days from symptom onset or referred to a hospital.
Last week the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced that fully vaccinated people no longer need to wear masks in most (but not all) situations. One area where the new masking guidelines will NOT change is in health care. The CDC, state and local guidance still calls for universal masking in all patient care areas.
DINW and our partner health system, MultiCare, are aligned in requiring universal masking for patient facing staff, patients, and visitors at our facilities for the foreseeable future.
As more women get vaccinated against COVID-19, some may develop swollen lymph nodes under their arm on the same side as their vaccine injection. Axillary lymphadenopathy or axillary adenopathy is the medical term referring to the change in size and consistency of lymph nodes in the armpit, also called the axilla. This is a normal immune response to a vaccine. The swollen lymph nodes usually return to normal on their own in a few days or weeks. Providing safe, high quality care continues to be our #1 priority. We are following the recommendations of the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and American College of Radiology to evaluate the needs of our patients, staff, community and healthcare providers.
In order to best serve our community, we are announcing some important updates to our services:
- Updated Visitor Policy: In order to comply with the governor’s COVID guidelines, only patients will be allowed to enter our clinics. Unless it is medically necessary for a patient to be accompanied by a healthy family member or caregiver, all visitors will be required to wait outside the clinic to minimize the risk of exposure to the virus. (Please note: At this time, OB Ultrasound patients will be allowed to have one healthy visitor accompany them to their appointment.)
- During this time, we will be asking all patients some additional screening questions at the time of scheduling their appointments. Screening questions will be asked again upon arrival to our imaging centers, and we will be taking temperatures using temporal thermometers.
- We ask that you alert us immediately if you have an appointment and have tested positive for COVID-19 so we can reschedule your appointment for a later date.
